Spurs v Southampton – Match Preview and Betting Tips

Spurs v Southampton – Wed 5th Dec, 20:00, Wembley Stadium
Referee: Anthony Taylor
Will Tottenham return to winning ways against the draw specialists of the league? Southampton have drawn the most games this season (six) with three of them coming in their last five matches.
Asides from that, the Saints have lost seven matches and won just one game. Conversely, Spurs are yet to draw a game this season while winning ten matches and losing four. Spurs have lost two home matches this season, but they came against Man City and Liverpool.
Otherwise, Spurs have a cracking record at Wembley with 12 wins and just 3 losses in their last 15 home matches. Although, two of those losses were against Man City and the Liverpool loss.
Southampton have not travelled well this season, losing four of their last five matches while, but there one win this season came at Crystal Palace. I struggle to see the Saints getting anything from this game as Spurs look to bounce back from their derby disappointment.
Spurs are playing some great football at the moment, but they were outclassed on the day against Arsenal in their last game. However, they should have no issues against a Southampton team that have only just officially appointed a new manager.
The Saints have conceded 26 goals this season to an average of 1.86 a match, while Spurs have scored 25 goals to an average of 1.79 a game. Spurs have only failed to score once at home in their last 20 games.
Whereas, Southampton have conceded 14 goals in their last five matches on the road. In fact, the Saints have conceded five goals in their last two matches, and I do not see that getting any better tonight.
Betting Tips
Firstly, a Spurs win is at 7/19, the draw is 17/4 and a shock Southampton win is best priced at 19/2 with Betfair.
I like Spurs to win and btts which is best priced at 19/10 with BetStars. Spurs have kept just one clean sheet at Wembley this season, while Southampton have scored in their last four matches in a row while scoring four goals in their last two games.
I have a feeling the Saints will get a goal again tonight, but Spurs should win this game in the end.
Harry Kane has scored six goals in his last five Premier League matches against Southampton, including a hat-trick in this fixture last season. But his price is terrible to score anytime.
Dele Alli has scored five goals in his last five Premier League matches against the Saints, and best priced at 21/10 with Betway to score anytime.
