Southampton v Man United – Match Preview and Betting Tips
Southampton v Man United – Sat 1st Dec, 17:30, St. Mary’s Stadium
Referee: Kevin Friend
Can Southampton end their 10-match winless run? It will be tough, but not out of the question. Southampton are yet to win at home this season while losing two games and drawing four.
Man United have won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five games. But, on the road they have lost two, won two and drawn one. In fact, both teams have scored in all of United’s last five away games.
United are actually sitting on a -1 goal difference right now while sitting down in seventh on 21 points. The title race is arguably gone for United this season, but they have qualified through the Champions League.
Southampton have only scored ten goals this season, but Man United have conceded ten goals in five games so the Saints could get a goal or two in this match. Although, in their previous three H2H matches, there has only been one goal in those three games.
United were the sole scorer in their last three meetings, but this game is the late kickoff on Saturday so I hope there is more action than the previous three. United have kept just one clean sheet away from home, so hopefully the Saints will get a goal.
Southampton have their best chance to beat Man United since their last victory in 2003, but I can see this game ending in an underwhelming draw.
Despite Southampton’s awful scoring record, they have netted four goals in their last three games, and I see them scoring against this struggling United team. But, I cannot see them keeping a clean sheet, so both teams to score which is best priced at 4/5 with 10Bet is my first pick.
This could also be a fairly painful game to watch, and I struggle to see either team coming out on top. Both love a draw, and it is best priced at 11/4 with BetVictor.
