Crystal Palace v Burnley – Match Preview and Betting Tips
Crystal Palace v Burnley – Sat 1st Dec, 15:00, Selhurst Park
Referee: Lee Probert
Two teams in terrible form, but who will come out on top this Saturday? Honestly, this is a tough match to call. Neither of these teams have shown enough for me to confidently pick a result.
Palace have lost three of their last five matches while drawing two. Similarly, Burnley have lost four of their last five while drawing one. Palace are without a win in their last nine Premier League matches while Burnley are winless in six.
But, Burnley are winning on the H2H stats with three wins in their last four Premier League meetings. However, Palace’s last win came at Selhurst Park last season.
Crystal Palace have failed to score a goal in four of their last five home matches while Burnley has failed to score in three of their last five away matches. Both are playing some pretty dreadful football at the moment.
Shockingly, Burnley hasn’t won any of their last 21 top-flight away matches in December, with their last win coming in 1969 against West Brom. Surely they are going to break that duck soon.
I struggle to see an entertaining game in this match, with goals most likely hard to come by. Burnley have been conceding goals for fun lately, and sit as the second worst defence in the league. Burnley have conceded a shocking 27 goals at an average of 2.08 a match.
But, Palace have the joint worst attack in the league, scoring just eight goals to an average of 0.62 a match.
Honestly, I would probably leave this game out of all my bets. But, I can see value in a draw, which is best priced at 3/1 with BetVictor.
A Palace win is best priced at 13/20 with Betfair (somehow favourites), and a Burnley win is best priced at 23/4 with Unibet.
Also, I like the look of under 2.5 match goals which is best priced at 31/40 with BetVictor. Pretty tasty odds for this potential bore-draw of a game.
