Burnley v Newcastle – Match Preview and Betting Tips

Burnley v Newcastle – Mon 26th Nov, 20:00, Turf Moor
Referee: Anthony Taylor
Monday Night Football has got another cracker in store for us tonight! Who’s feeling a six-goal thriller? But seriously, I am glad Champion’s League is back this week because this game is not going to be fun.
After a run of three losses in a row, Burnley bounced back with an inspiring 0-0 draw against Leicester. Newcastle comes into this match on the back of two home victories, but they have already drawn 0-0 three times on the road this season.
Even worse, those 0-0 draws have come against fellow bottom half of the table teams, Southampton, Palace and Cardiff. Surely not another 0-0 tonight?
Now some interesting stats. In the last four meetings between these teams, the home team has scored first but only gone on to win once.
Newcastle’s last 12 Monday Premier League matches have all been away from home and they have lost 11 of those, with just one win away at Stoke last season. The Magpies have seen the fewest goals in the league this season, scoring nine and conceding fifteen.
Meanwhile, Burnley have scored 12 goals while conceding 25. Honestly, this game is very hard to write about, and I struggle to see anything else than a low scoring bore-fest.
Betting Tips
Firstly, a Burnley win is best priced at 2/1 with BetVictor, draw at 11/5 with Betfair and a Newcastle win is 9/5 with Betfred.
I just do not see many goals in this match, and I do not think either team will lose this one. I can see this finishing 0-0 or 1-1 with 0-0 best priced at 7/1 with BetStars and 1-1 best priced at 11/2 with BetVictor.
On the note of low goals, under 2.5 goals is best priced at 4/7 with Betfair but it doesn’t offer a lot of value. I struggle to see there being over 2.5 goals in this match but maybe Monday Night Football is on to a surprise package.
