Spurs v Chelsea – Match Preview and Betting Tips

Spurs v Chelsea – Sat 24th Nov, 17:30, Wembley Stadium
Referee: Martin Atkinson
Chelsea are unbeaten in twelve Premier League matches and the only side in Europe’s top five leagues yet to lose a game in any competition. Can Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs spoil the Chelsea party? It is certainly a tough one to call, but I do not think Chelsea will lose this match.
I am sure Spurs fans would have wanted this wonderful derby to be in their new stadium, but Wembley will have to do for this game. Tottenham have made a great start to their Premier League campaign and sit just five points behind Man City.
But, they have struggled against teams in good form, with losses to Watford, Liverpool, Man City, Inter Milan and Barcelona. They have an important Champions League fixture against Inter Milan on Wednesday and will want to go into that match full of confidence.
However, Chelsea have been impressive on the road this season with four wins and one draw in the league. They have scored twelve goals in the process while only conceding one! But, this will be their toughest test on the road this season.
This game could go either way, depending on which stars perform to their potential on the day. There isn’t that much to split the team’s ability, but Chelsea are in better form in all competitions.
Dele Alli has scored five goals in his last four matches against Chelsea in all competitions, but the Blues have kept 21 PL clean sheets against Spurs, which is their joint-best record.
Betting Tips
I have not been impressed with Spurs against the “bigger” teams this season, as they put in some poor performances against Liverpool/City. In fact, Spurs have lost four of their last seven PL matches against the big six sides.
But, I see this being a tight and cagey match for most of the game, and I see value in the draw which is best priced at 28/11 with Unibet. Also, I see both teams getting on the scoresheet, so a nice btts draw is best priced at 17/5 with BetVictor.
