Man United v Crystal Palace – Match Preview and Betting Tips
Man United v Crystal Palace – Sat 24th Nov, 15:00, Old Trafford
Referee: Lee Mason
Jose Mourinho has a spectacular record for 3pm home matches, in which he has lost just one in 51 matches. Can Crystal Palace pull off an upset in this match? Well, that one home loss was to Palace back in August 2015 when Mourinho was the manager of Chelsea.
Still, I would be surprised to see Palace pull that one off again, but they are best priced at 8/1 if you fancy it. As inconsistent as United have been this season, I cannot see Palace getting anything from this game.
Palace have lost eight of their last 11 Premier League matches while losing their last four matches on the road. They have scored just two goals in those losses while conceding eight.
Asides from United’s disappointing derby loss to City, they have been playing fairly well with three wins and a draw in their last five Premier League matches. They also pulled off a shock 2-1 win at Juventus in the Champions League a few weeks ago.
Man United have won three, drawn one and lost one of their home matches this season. I see them scoring a goal or two, but they have only kept one clean sheet in the league this season. Mourinho has struggled with his defensive options while sitting with a -1 goal difference.
I cannot remember the last time I saw Man United with a minus goal difference, and it is certainly concerning for United fans. Will Mourinho spend big to desperately reinforce his defence in January?
Firstly, Man United are best priced at 2/5 for the win, 4/1 for the draw and 8/1 for a shock Palace win. I do not see a lot of value in any of those bets.
But, Man United have played 18 PL matches against Palace without ever losing, while Mata has scored in two of his three PL home matches against Palace. Lukaku has also scored in six of his last eight PL appearances against Crystal Palace.
However, I fancy the in-form Martial to pop up with a goal this Saturday. He is best priced at 7/5 to score anytime with BoyleSports!
