Spurs v Man City – Match Preview and Betting Tips
Spurs v Man City – Mon 29th Oct, 20:00, Wembley Stadium, Ref: Kevin Friend
Despite Tottenham’s poor results in the Champions League, they have made an excellent start to the Premier League and will be targeting a fifth victory in a row. However, Man City have once again started the season brilliantly and look scarily good.
I am surprised to see the odds in this game with Spurs being priced as high as 4/1 to get the win with Unibet. They are still a capable squad and are very strong at “home”. Yet, City have disgusting depth all the way through their squad with some of the best players in the league playing some excellent football right now.
Spurs are a team that seems to thrive on confidence, but without it they can look a shadow of their best. They come off the back of a disappointing 2-2 draw to PSV which all but confirmed their exit from the Champions League. Hugo Lloris has not looked his best while making several costly errors this season.
To make matters worse, City have been playing some dominating, beautiful football without arguably their best player. But, Kevin De Bruyne should be fit for this game which is a terrifying prospect for these low on confidence, Spurs players.
Pep has a good track record against Pochettino, winning seven drawing four and losing just two of their previous meetings. But, Pep won both of the last two games so he could make it three in a row tonight.
Firstly, I feel Spurs will not bounce back from that disappointing draw against PSV in time for this match. Their confidence will be low compared to a City that picked up a brilliant 3-0 away win against Shakhtar. But, even if they did, I just do not think they are good enough to get something from this game.
I see pretty decent value in a City win at 3/4 with Betfred. City are once again dominating games and getting great results, but this time they are keeping other teams out much more effectively. They have scored a monstrous 26 goals while only conceding a joint-low three goals this PL season.
It could be quite a cagey affair to start off with, but I think City will establish their dominance fairly early on. If they are clinical they should have more than enough to win both halves of this match. City to win both halves is my last tip and best priced at 18/5 with Unibet.
