Man City vs Fulham – Match Preview and Betting Tips
Man City vs Fulham – Sat 15th Sep, 15:00, Etihad Stadium, Ref: Stuart Attwell
How I would love for this game to be the late kick-off because I think we are going to see a goal fest. High scoring City are coming up against a Fulham team that has some defence issues they need to work on, conceding on average 2.25 goals a match so far.
However, they are scoring an average of 1.75 goals per match, making for some highly entertaining games, including over’s 3.5 goals in their last three matches in a row.
Fulham lost their first match at home to Palace but had plenty of opportunities to score in that game, but Palace proved far more clinical in the end. They played well against Spurs too, creating a number of chances and scoring one goal. But, their defence woes showed towards the end, as Spurs scored two late goals to get the win.
Then, they featured in a very high scoring first half against Burnley, where five goals were scored in a 3-2 scoreline for the first half. Bear in mind, Burnley are in terrible form and struggling to score goals but they managed two in the first half against Fulham.
In their last match against Brighton, they let a 2-0 lead slip in the second half with two goals from Glenn Murray. Brighton had one of the worst away records last season, so to concede two goals and end up drawing is a sign of their serious defensive issues.
I need not talk about Man City and their performances, as at home, they are just a terrifying force to come up against. Last season they scored 61 goals at home, and only conceded 14. Their tally is already up to 8 at the Etihad, but they have already conceded two, one against Huddersfield and one against Newcastle.
Betting Tips
Fulham will most likely try to take this game to City, like Wolves done quite successfully in their 1-1 draw. But, I see it going badly for Fulham. They have some serious threat going forward, and Mitrovic is in fine scoring form ever since he put on a Fulham shirt. He is the joint top goalscorer in the league at the moment, with four goals.
City have shown their complacency to concede, but can easily score three or more against you at the same time. BTTS match result City is pretty decent value at 6/4 with Betway.
There isn’t a great deal of value in a lot of the popular markets. But, Mitrovic to score anytime is fairly decent at 15/4 with Betway. The usual City goalscorers have shocking value, with Aguero being as short as 2/5 to score anytime…
Bernardo Silva is the only other player with good value and is best priced at 9/5 with Betway.
