Leicester vs Liverpool | Premier League – Matchweek 4 of 38 Betting Preview and Tips
Leicester vs Liverpool – Sat 1st Sep, 12:30, King Power Stadium
Back with another good looking early kick-off as the hosts try to avoid losing to Liverpool again. Last season the Reds managed the double over Leicester in a five-goal thriller at the King Power and a 2-1 victory at Anfield. Leicester have never made it easy though. In the previous two season’s Leicester have held firm beating Liverpool 3-1 and 2-0 at home.
The Foxes record under Claude Puel has certainly been a mixed bag of results. Varying from great home win’s against Arsenal 3-1 to losing 3-0 to Crystal Palace. Palace also beat them 5-0 in the reverse fixture, Roy Hodgson really done a job with them last season.
More worrying for Leicester was their lack of goals at the King Power. They only managed 25 goals whilst scoring 31 away last season. Their top scorer, Jamie Vardy will still be suspended in this match after his crunching red card challenge on Matt Doherty. Okazaki could be back for this game but it’s more likely Iheanacho will start.
After his promising start at Man City, Kelechi lost his place and was sold to Leicester last season. The striker struggled for goals though, only scoring three in his 21 appearances. Mahrez and Vardy were instrumental in Leicester success scoring 32 goals and assisting 12 times between them. Obviously, Mahrez has moved on and Vary will be unavailable. Who will step up for Leicester, if anyone?
So far, we have been very impressed with James Maddison and Demarai Gray. Maddison more so, but they both carry a real threat going forward. They could be in for a tough time against the impenetrable back line of Liverpool though.
Betting Tips
Liverpool has looked very solid this season even away from home. It was a title costing issue last season, as well as too many draws at home. But, they did concede 28 goals away from home last season, compared to just 10 at Anfield.
However, they look much more assured at the back with Van Dijk, Allison and Keita dropping back to provide additional protection. We think Leicester will make it difficult for Liverpool, but not too difficult. Liverpool -1.5 Asian Handicap is best priced at 13/10 with Royal Panda.
However, remember this is an early kick-off and we will be avoiding this in our betting slips.
