Chelsea vs Bournemouth | Premier League – Matchweek 4 of 38 Betting Preview and Tips
Chelsea vs Bournemouth – Sat 1st Sep, 15:00, Stamford Bridge
Could the Cherries shock Chelsea like last season’s 3-0 victory at Stamford Bridge? Three second-half goals scored in just 16 minutes by Callum Wilson, Junior Stanislas and Nathan Ake rattled the Blues, and they never got back into the game.
The result was really a shock. A match-up that has been heavily favoured by Chelsea in the past, with them winning the past four encounters before the 3-0 defeat. Interestingly, these two have never drawn a game in their head to head history. They have only met seven times but Chelsea has won five, and the Cherries two.
We expect this game to follow the trend but Chelsea should restore order and get the win. The Blues have started the season well and always have a solid home record (minus Mourinho meltdown of 15/16).
Under Maurizio Sarri, Chelsea are, let’s face it, a lot more enjoyable to watch. No longer will we watch Conte’s men grind out 1 or 2-0 victories which were so frequent under his defensive style of play. Man City play with three at the back, but their wingbacks are not so defensive players that rarely even defend.
Sarri employ’s the delightfully attacking 4-3-3 formation, and it has been a joy to watch so far. The highlight being the Arsenal game, in which was a scrappy, end to end game, full of defensive blunders. But, it sure was highly entertaining for the neutral.
Bournemouth are in good form and have shown that they can score goals away from home, in a good win over West Ham. Callum Wilson has had a great start and could get on the score-sheet this weekend.
We think because of Chelsea’s defending issues, they are fairly unlikely to keep a clean sheet, but they should outscore Bournemouth. We are going for a BTTS match result Chelsea at 9/5 with Betway.
