Fulham vs Burnley | Premier League – Matchweek 3 of 38 Betting Preview and Tips
Fulham vs Burnley – Sun 26th Aug, 16:00, Craven Cottage, Ref: David Coote
A tale of two teams struggling for form right now, but Burnley’s record is surprisingly worrying. After Saturday’s loss to Watford, Burnley are now winless in seven successive Premier League matches (W0 D3 L4). Fulham may have lost their last two games, but their overall form is more convincing right now.
Fulham will feel the 2-0 home loss to Crystal Palace is worse than it looks. They started off better with two good chances from Mitrovic well saved by Wayne Hennessey. There were chances for both teams but Palace proved the more clinical with an excellent shot from Schlupp. Followed by a brilliant Zaha run to take it around Fabri and tap home.
But, Fulham did dominate possession (66.4%) and had a total of 15 shots (just six on target) in a frustrating match for them. It was a little bit more positive in the Spurs game which required a brilliant strike from Moura to break the deadlock just before halftime.
Fulham did manage to equalise with Mitrovic early in the second half. But, Tripper’s wonder free-kick seemed to break their morale in the 74th minute. Followed by a textbook Harry Kane goal (broke the August curse) in the 77th minute to finish them off.
Burnley’s first match against Southampton finished 0-0 but could have featured three or more goals. Both keepers had amazing games to keep it scoreless. Then, at Turf Moor you would often back a Burnley win or at least draw. But, they were convincingly dismantled by an in-form Watford team that showed that proved too clinical.
Betting Tips
Burnley are away to Olympiakos tonight in the Europa League and were noticeably tired against Watford. But, Burnley are unbeaten in their last 10 PL matches against promoted opposition and won 53% of their PL points away from home last season.
We think tiredness could be a factor again, but Burnley should have enough to grind for a likely draw. BTTS draw is best priced at BetVictor at 19/5.
