Wolves vs Man City | Premier League – Matchweek 3 of 38 Betting Preview and Tips
Wolves vs Man City – Sat 25th Aug, 12:30, Molineux Stadium, Ref: Martin Atkinson
Wolves will be hoping to avoid two defeats in a row as the reigning champions bear down on Molineux. Their biggest boost is not playing the match in front of thousands of their home supporters. But, more the time the game is being played. Could we be in for our first shock of the early-kick off-campaign?
After all the transfer window hype, we are yet to be convinced by Wolves so far. They struggled against a ten man Everton scoring a late equaliser to rescue a point from their first game.
Against Leicester, they certainly had chances but were just not clinical enough to get a goal. In fairness, they did hit the woodwork three times in what must have been a very frustrating performance for the Wolves players.
They once again faced ten men, after Jamie Vardy was sent off in the 62nd minute from a crunching studs-up challenge on Matt Doherty. As if his day couldn’t get any worse after scoring an own goal, he’s then on the receiving end of a leg breaking challenge and goes off injured.
Man City once again had a scarily dominant game as they thrashed Huddersfield 6-1 on Sunday. Sergio Aguero will once again get the headlines after another hat-trick and could well have got another two or three. Aguero came close another two or three times most notably hitting the post and forcing great saves from Ben Hamer.
The whole City team were getting in on the action, with the best assist of the weekend coming from the unlikely figure of Ederson. Yes, you read that right. Ederson, Man City’s goalkeeper, assisted an Aguero goal. A breathtaking, pinpoint pass straight to Aguero who expertly handled the rest.
Betting Tips
Oh, that early kick-off curse. How it ruins the best of bets. But, if you are brave enough to throw it in your slip, take a look at a match result BTTS Man City bet at best odds of 9/5 with Betfred.
Man City are obviously prolific scorers and will almost definitely find the net a few times against a shaky looking Wolves team. But, City also look like they have a few errors in them.
Mendy almost play’s as a left winger and Bernardo Silva on the right, it mostly leaves just the back three CB’s. Even then, Stones and Laporte find themselves drifting too far forwards at times. However, they did manage to subdue Arsenal at the Emirates so it could be a risky bet relying on Wolves to score.
Either way, this game will not be in any of our bets as well look to passionately avoid early-kick off’s.
