Liverpool vs Brighton | Premier League – Matchweek 3 of 38 Betting Preview and Tips
Liverpool vs Brighton – Sat 28th Aug, 17:30, Anfield, Ref: Chris Kavanagh
We are only two games in, and we already love the look of Liverpool this season. Defensively assured with the help of Van Dijk and co, but also solid in midfield with Naby Keita looking outstanding in his past two games.
Of course, we can’t forget about James Milner who had a great game against West Ham and put in a shift against Palace. In fact, boring Milner is the first ever player to score eight consecutive Premier League goals from penalties. If that doesn’t impress you, he set a new record for the most assists in the Champions League last season with nine assists. What a cracking free transfer.
Sadio Mane has been in fine scoring form too, scoring a goal in each of Liverpool’s games so far. They certainly look like a team capable of battling it out with Man City, but you can’t help but feel they will slip (oh Stevie G) somewhere down the line.
Honestly, though, we hope they do push City for the title because we can’t stand them running away with back to back titles. It’s just boring for everyone else/neutrals that what to see a competitive title race.
Brighton struggled in their opener losing to Watford comfortably without managing a shot on target. But, at the fortress Amex Stadium, they came out with three points in a brilliant win against a struggling Man United.
We say struggling, because of the issues surrounding Mourhino and discontent in the players. In fact, Mino Raiola (Pogba’s agent) felt the need to post some quite frankly embarrassing tweets in reply to comments from Paul Scholes this morning.
Betting Tips
Chris Hughton will be delighted with the win, but we can’t seem them getting anything away at Anfield. In their last two head to head games, Liverpool has hammered Brighton 5-1 away and 4-0 at home, and we expect similar scorelines this Saturday.
Liverpool went the whole of last season without a defeat at home. Granted they drew too many games but Brighton’s away record speaks for itself.
Brighton won just two away games, drew five and lost a whopping twelve away matches last season. In the process scoring just 10 goals and conceding 29. Only Stoke had a worse away record last season with just one point less.
But, Brighton or draw double chance is a crazy 9/2 with BoyleSports. Everything say’s this will not happen but damn. 20/1 for Brighton to win pre-match is also pretty crazy.
We like the look of an Asian Handicap -2 Liverpool at odds of 9/11 with Unibet. Or, if fancy similar scorelines to the last two matches a -3 Asian Handicap is 12/5 with Unibet again.
