Burnley vs Watford | Premier League – Matchweek 2 of 38 Betting Preview and Tips
Burnley vs Watford – Sun 18th August, 13:30, Turf Moor, Ref: Paul Tierney
Watford will look to continue their fine form after last weeks 2-0 win over Brighton but may be in for a tough time at Turf Moor. Burnley drew 0-0 away to Southampton with both goalkeepers having outstanding games. If it wasn’t for some sensational saves from the Saints keeper McCarthy, Burnley could have scored at least two. Both Hendrick and Lennon were expertly denied from close range by McCarthy in the first half.
Joe Hart also made some terrific saves denying both Danny Ings and Jack Stephens. All eyes will be on Hart as he looks to recover his reputation as a dependable Premier League keeper.
Watford had a solid game against Brighton with a man of the match performance from Roberto Pereyra, who scored a brace on the day. But, it wasn’t just Pereyra who impressed. The team created a lot of chances and reduced Brighton to not having any shots on target all match and only six shots overall.
Betting Tips
Burnley are rather strong at home and have a decent head to head record against Watford. Winning three of their four Prem meetings and losing just one match away. Watford will be keen to avoid losing both their home and away fixtures like last season. First was a 1-0 loss at Turf Moor and a 2-1 loss at Vicarage Road.
When playing at home Burney have not lost to Watford in their last 10 encounters. But, Watford are on a winning streak of 3 matches away from home and haven’t lost in their last 6 matches.
We like the look of BTTS draw match result with best odds of 19/5 with BetVictor. Roberto Pereyra is in great form with five goals in his last seven PL matches. However, all of the goals have come at Vicarage Road. But, if you have faith in the Argentine you can get him as an anytime goalscorer at 5/1 with Unibet.
