Spurs vs Fulham | Premier League – Matchweek 2 of 38 Betting Preview and Tips
Spurs vs Fulham – Sat 18th August, Kick Off 15:00, Wembley Stadium, Referee: Anthony Taylor
It is now confirmed that Spurs will play their first home game of the season at Wembley, with them finally moving to their new ground against Liverpool on September 15. But, this is in no way bad news for Tottenham fans. They only lost two home matches at Wembley in the Premier League to Chelsea and Man City.
Spurs had an okay game against Newcastle with defending blunders and great crosses winning them the game. Newcastle came close on several occasions and it would have been fair if it finished a draw.
Pochettino played a very strong side with only a few changes to the normal line-up. It can be said players are still returning to match fitness after a gruelling World Cup with very little rest in between. We expect a much stronger performance from Spurs this Saturday and can see a comfortable home win being the end result.
Fulham lost their opening game 0-2 at home to Crystal Palace. It could be said they had the better game, but they failed to take the chances created. Fulham started well with Mitrovic twice seeing shots saved brilliantly by Wayne Hennessey.
After that Schlupp scored a cracking goal rifling the ball into the roof of the net from a Van Aanholt pass. Zaha finished the game with an excellent run to take the ball around the keeper and tap it in for the second.
Betting Tips
Spurs have a great record both at home and against newly promoted teams. They are currently on a run of 18 consecutive home league victories against promoted teams and only lost to Chelsea and Man City at home all last season. In fact, their home record stems back to those games being their only loses in 38 Premier League matches with 30 wins and 6 draws.
There is little value in the outright home win. But, better odds can be found with Spurs to be winning both halftime and fulltime at 5/6 with BetVictor.
We also think Spurs could win by three or more goals in a dominating performance. Asian Handicap -2 is best priced at 17/12 with Betvictor again.
