Man United vs Leicester | Premier League – Matchday 1 of 38 Betting Preview
Man United Vs Leicester – Fri 10th August. Kick Off: 21:00. Old Trafford, Manchester.
The summer break has just flown by after the incredible footballing display at this year’s World Cup. To kick it all off we have a great game between United and Leicester this Friday. Many people are quick to dismiss Leicester but after last years cracking opening encounter against Arsenal, we could be in for a show.
Alexandre Lacazette took just 2 minutes to score the first goal of the season and Leicester replied almost instantly with Okazaki’s goal in the fifth minute. However, we expect Friday’s game to be a lot more defensive.
Man United have had a fairly bad pre-season with many already calling for Mourinho’s head. In fact, Mourinho is the odds-on favourite to be the first manager sacked this coming season. There is clear frustration around United’s transfer policy and their inability to land his desired transfer targets.
But, ignore his pre-season form and judge Mourinho’s record for the start of a season. Jose is unbeaten in nine of his opening-weekend matches (W8 D1) and has a win percentage of 88.9%.
Conversely, Leicester will be aiming for their first win in 8 Premier League matches against Man United with 4 losses and 3 draws. Even worse, Leicester has lost seven of their last eight league visits to Old Trafford scoring just three goals.
Leicester lost their star man Mahrez to a £60m Man City bid. But, they have done a pretty decent job at replacing him. Firstly, is the £20m attacking midfielder, James Maddison. I am a Norwich City supporter so I know exactly how talented this guy is. He is a master on set pieces and loves to run at the opposition. He was easily our best creative spark last season scoring 14 goals and 8 assists.
We can see Man United winning 1-0 or 2-0 so we are backing them to win to zero at odds of 23/20 with Bethard.
If you fancy the correct score bet you can find the best odds at Paddy Power (1-0, 9/2) or 10Bet (2-0, 6/1).
