Best of the Best in the Ice Hockey World
Hockey is one of those sports that is loved all over the world in spite of having originated in some of the coldest countries of the planet. There are different leagues and associations, the most prominent and probably most well known being the NHL, or, more formally, the National Hockey League in the United States. The most skilled and well trained players worldwide come together to play in its championship.
The best of these players in 2017 is arguably Patrick Kane, a right wing for the Chicago Blackhawks. His spot as the best player isn’t based on fan votes, but rather on NHL’s experts. It is not surprising that he has gained this title, having made over 45 goals and 60 assists for a total of 106 points. He also has three Stanley Cups under his belt and one Hart Trophy, one award for MVP across the league.
The best part? He is only 27 years old. Even better still, he has been playing in the NHL for 10 years and 10 seasons now. In his entire career he has gained 663 points in 658 games. He is on the fast track to becoming one of Chicago’s and also the league’s top all time scorers and players.
Creeping in on the top spot is the well-known Sidney Crosby, who plays for the Pittsburgh Penguins. He has been pegged to be the next Wayne Gretzky. His stats and points are not as impressive as Patrick Kane but many argue he is more well rounded and balanced as a player and as a captain, which helps becoming an all-time great!
