Who is Zlatan Ibrahimović?
If you are a football fan or even if you’re not but know some of them, chances are you’ve heard of Zlatan Ibrahimović. A Swedish professional footballer, Ibrahimović is known for his creative moves and strength. Born in Sweden, he started playing football at the tender age of six and grew up playing for a range of local junior clubs. He even was on the verge of giving up football, at the age of fifteen, but he was eventually convinced to pursue it professionally.
Hailed as one of the top goalscorers in Sweden, the football player has a large fan following: he has played for several notable clubs in Europe, too, and has gained worldwide popularity thanks to his excellent performances on the field.
Admirers of Ibrahimović cannot help but commend his unique playing style. Most often positioned as a striker due to his quick and strong playing, the footballer is actually quite versatile. Zlatan is also known for his accuracy with both his head and leg, which is an extremely valuable asset, especially when it comes to penalty shots. Aerial shots and tricks are also an area of expertise for Ibrahimović, aided by his surprising agility. For a tall player of his size (he’s over 6″4!), such quick movements are quite uncommon.
As a result of many of these traits, Zlatan Ibrahimović is often hailed as one of the greatest contemporary players. Besides his finesse and skill as a footballer, the player has also gained attention for his extroverted nature. Generally energetic and boisterous, he is portrayed as having a larger-than-life personality.
With a career spanning around two decades, the footballer announced his decision to retire from performing in the Swedish national team in 2016. Considering his widespread fan-following and popularity, it seems as just like his hero, Brazilian footballer Ronaldo, Ibrahimović will go down in history as one of the greats!
