Premier League Week 34 -

Premier League Week 34

The race for the Champions League spots will be a race probably until the last game of the league. The top two spots are already decided. Chelsea shows no weaknesses as they keep going on and their last victim was Everton. 3-0 the game ended at Goodison Park with the three goals all coming after the 65th minute. That means Chelsea moves up to 81 points, four more than second placed Tottenham. Who had a difficult game against city rivals Arsenal. But two goals within three minutes secured Pochettino´s men three points and broke the 22-year-old curse. It is for the first time in 22 years that Tottenham will finish higher than Arsenal in the league. It was really close to happen last year but Tottenham gave it all away at the end.

Now the last two spots will be difficult to see who will secure since it is very tight with only four games to go there are two teams with the same amount of points. Liverpool and Manchester City has 66 points, but Liverpool has the better goal difference but not much actually but by one goal only. While Manchester United have one point less than the two former teams. Arsenal are in sixth place with 60 points but one game less played and could go up to 63 points. Like stated before there are only four games left and every goal will mean something now.

Liverpool were first out of these teams and hit a huge blow against Crystal Palace. Missing Sadio Mane, Adam Lallana and Daniel Sturridge meant his offensive players did not have a lot of backup. Something that was clearly seen during the game. Even though Liverpool took the lead Crystal Palace managed to turn the game through former Liverpool player Benteke. The Belgian scored both of Crystal Palace goals and damaged Liverpool.

Manchester United were up against Swansea at Old Trafford and got their tenth draw at the Stadium of theatre. Missing Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Rojo, Chris Smalling and Fellaini, Mourinho did not have many players to choose from. Add to that Luke Shaw who was injured during the game and Mourinho has a great defensive and offensive crisis. Rashford won a penalty for United after a very clear dive, Rooney took the penalty and made no mistakes. But Swansea managed to come back with a great freekick by Sigrudsson.

Arsenal and Tottenham were up against each other at White Hart Lane. The last londonderby to be played there since Tottenham are officially moving to Wembley next season. The game showed how poorly Wenger has been tactically this year and Tottenham won it fairly. Middlesbrough received some hope after managing to stop Manchester City with a 2-2 draw. The Brazilian wonder boy Gabriel Jesus was back again and scored the 2-2 goal at the 85th minute.

Arsenal and Manchester United will be playing each other at Emirates stadium on Sunday a game which would decide whom of these teams will be pursuing the dream of playing Champions League next season.
