La Liga now tighter than ever!

After Barcelona lost 4-0 to PSG and Real Madrid triumphed against Napoli with 3-1. The mood in the Barcelona camp was all but good. One point behind Madrid who had two games in hand. Sevilla behind them with only one point. Luis Enrique was feeling the pressure and decided to announce that he is leaving the club after this season.

But three weeks later and everything has now shifted in a way only football knows how to do. Real Madrid played one of their game in hand, it was against Valencia. A team that has proven to be difficult to deal with for the top-flight teams while easily losing to the bottom teams. This day it was the old Valencia back. They gave Real Madrid a real match for the three points and they also managed to hurt Madrid. With new-signing Zaza scoring within four minutes and Orellano adding one more five minutes later. From there on it was like expected a one-sided game, where Real tried to do everything to comeback but came no closer than one goal.

The week after was also a decisive week, Atletico Madrid hosted Barcelona while Villareal hosted Real Madrid. In the first game Barcelona triumphed with 2-1. A game that was important to win since Atletico Madrid is one of the strongest teams in La Liga. But the way Barcelona played I would say they were only lucky to get the three points. Because in the first 45 minutes Atletico Madrid looked like playing a bottom team, given chance after chance. Ter Stegen stood well in the goal and a late Messi goal gave Barcelona the three points. After the Barca – Atletico game it was time for Real Madrid to play Villareal.

The game didn´t start the way they were hoping for. Villareal showed up with their strongest side ready to play football in the way they only know, attacking. The first 45 minutes Real Madrid players didn´t really know what to do. Villareal players where everywhere and controlled the entire game. But during halftime Zidane must have said something. Because the team that entered the pitch was not the same team. They were now attacking from all angels and managed a heroic comeback, something nowadays that seems only possible for Real Madrid. The game ended 3-2 after two late goals from the world´s best player Cristiano Ronaldo.

Just four days after Real Madrid was up against Las Palmas in Bernabue, one of the few teams that has managed to take a point from the capital team during the first tie. It all seemed well when Isco scored the first goal after eight minutes. It was now supposed to go like always, Real runs over the small teams and they just have to accept it. But Taunasu came free with the goalkeeper Navas after a blunder from Sergio Ramos and equaled the score. Bale lost his temper in the second half and kicked a player and that lead to a red card. In the 55th minute Ramos hand touched the ball in the penalty box and a penalty kick is like many say the same thing as a goal. Three minutes later Boateng made it 3-1 for Las Palmas. But once again the heroic Real Madrid came back after two very late goals from Ronaldo and managed to take one point

While Barcelona have gathered all points possible after the Champions League, Real Madrid dropped four and Sevilla dropped three. This means Barcelona are now on top with two points more than Real Madrid who has a game in hand and the EL Classico in Bernabue still remaining to be played.
