Manchester United lined up sixth straight win

After a season of complete failure at Chelsea, Mourinho needed something to get back to the top. So, he chooses a club that needed the same thing. Many United fans never wanted the Portuguese to take charge over the club because of his very known behavior. But the Glazer family needed a quick fix and turned to him. His first signing was bringing in Zlatan Ibrahimovic as a free agent from PSG. A choice that was already questioned by critics since the attacker is 35 years old. Even though he scored more than 30 goals in Ligue 1 some still never believed he had what it takes to play in the Premier League.

Now after 19 games and half of the league being played the critics have turned on themselves. Zlatan who scored his 13th league goal against West Ham, 18 goals in all competitions, is now one goal behind top scorer Diego Costa. United has also gone 13 games without a defeat in all competitions and six straight wins in the league. United fans have obviously started falling in love with their new Swedish hero and the Special One. But even though they have six straight wins they haven´t moved up in the table. They are still 6th but with good margin down to Everton on 7th spot.

The Champions League spot are even more difficult than ever before. With Chelsea´s form right now all points for the to bring home the trophy to Stamford Bridge. Meanwhile for United there is still hope but the other teams are also back to their best. With only two points behind the classic fourth Arsenal, though the Gunners have one game less played the chances are truly there. But is Mourinho taking too much of a risk when relying on 35-year-old striker? The striker has already smashed last year’s top-scorer Martial and there are many games left this season. He even smashed the records of Manchester United physical test when signing for the club, at 35!

Anyway, United have more hope now than ever before. The club’s mentality has changed entirely with signings of Mikhtarian, Paul Pogba and Zlatan. All of these three players have had their part in the win streak United are enjoying right now. And if they keep up with this form, after completing the tough Boxing day and New Year schedule the Champions League is not that far. Arsenal will be playing Bournemouth today meanwhile Chelsea will visit White hart lane and take on their city rivals. All three of the London teams are ahead of Mourinho´s men and any point that will be dropped means a bigger chance for United to go back where they once always belonged. The Champions League.
